Translator will not function !

  Daibus 19:17 12 Dec 2003

I have reinstalled and reinstalled L & H Translator as it suddenly refused to function, as every time I try to use it an error message appears, and the programme has to close.

Tried the disc on a friends computer and the translator functions perfectly.
There is something on my computer that is conflicting with the Translator…….. very strange as before there were no problems whatsoever.
My OS is XP Home, as is my friends.

Any ideas guys…..where should I look ?

What is the error message?

What (if anything) did you do immediately before it stopped working?

Maybe a system file in XP has changed -go to start, run and type

sfc /scannow

- it should repair any damaged files.

Thank you for your reply but I typed in Run, "sfc/scannow" as you said, but the message displayed said "not found".

Any more help....appreciated !

Tried your suggestion, with thanks, but with no joy.

Any more ideas out there, as it would be good to get the translator working, as I'm situated in Spain and therefore it would be very handy for me.

What is the error message that it throws up?

Does the translator manufacturer have a website?

Cheers D S.

After the need to close is displayed, when I click on the error message details, this is what I get.

Error Signature.

AppName ST.exe
ModName sv221mn dll
Mod Ver
Offset 00012f9f

The company I believe is now no more. I telephoned their help number with no luck and my e-mail to them was returned .

Thanks again for your help.

It is true that the Lernout and Hauspie are no more but the Mediagold Technical Support is, I believe, still operational.

Obviously you had no luck with Mediagold?

I must say that I'm surprised that you got no help from Mediagold.
