Transferring data between 2 comps in the same room

What is the easiest way to transfer data from one comp to another?

A few questions

Is this a one off or will it be an ongoing thing.

Do you also want to share an internet connections.

What are the Operating Systems of the PC's

A couple more..

Are you OK to take the case off the PCs and fiddle around inside?

What connectors do you currently have on both PCs (e.g. parallel, serial, USB, network etc)

Small amount's of data eg =>1.44mb - <=20.00mb can be transferred using floppy disks(10-20 Disks), a mutlispanning zip program (Winzip) and about 15 minutes of time.

If it's small data and infrequently I would opt for this method. It's certainly the cheapest.

Connect PCs using Laplink cable and use Laplink program.

It will be a one off, ME to XP. No to opening the case.

I think Laplink was what I had in mind, thanks all.
