transfering office to another pc

a few weeks ago I downloaded office 7 student editon for £40 on another notepad, however that is out of service so now I need office on another notepad.

Is it transferable or does each computer need it's own?

So long it is only on one machine it is ok.

Which student version do you have, the three user licence or the single user licence. If the former, you can use it on up to three separate computers. If you have the single user licence, then you will need to uninstall it from the old notepad before installing on your new machine. When you enter the product key it may refuse to validate, if this happens you will need to contact microsoft and explain what you have done. They should then enable validation.

If you can download it again then I would suggest that this time you burn it to an ISO disc so that you can transfer it if you need to.
