Transfering Files

  marinbob100 18:42 25 Sep 2003

I have had to replace my mainboard and cpu and memory.

The new set up is ddr ram and a Athlon 2400+ cpu.

The new system won't boot to the hard drive I was using. ( Athlon 1200 ).

I have used a spare HD to to get the new system working and I have set my old HD as a slave.

The problem is==== How to I tranfer the files from my slave to my new master.
When I try to open up my accounts program which was on C: it says it can't find the path.
Is this because its now on my F: drive?

Any Ideas?

Your startup path is probabley still 'C:\accounts\acctsprog.exe instead of the new D:\accounts\accountsprog.exe

To copy Files/Directories from your slave to master you could go to explorer and select them and drag them to the master or 'Rclick'.. 'copy' the files or directories select your master and 'Rclick'.. 'paste'

Quite slow

Sorted thanks

Where I was going wrong. I copied them to another folder so it still couln't find the path.

If you copy them just to the c: drive Hey PRESTO it works.
