Transfering data

What is the best way to transfer data from a desktop to a laptop. Via usb I suspect, but have also read you need the correct cable. with a little bit of electronics to make sure of correct transfer! Any opinions?

The easiest way is by usb stick.
Or you could burn a cd.

Network them together via your router if you have one.

"Or you could burn a cd" it'll take few! But no doubt that will be easy in the long run!

8Gb memory stick. Anything else is so twentieth century. You can buy one for about £12.

You could get one of those 'easy transfer cables', but they are not ideal to use for some (I have never got mine to work).

If the network method doesn't appeal, a USB drive is relatively cheap & easy as the others suggest. 8GB click here & 16Gb click here flash drives at Play. G
