Tools To Keep PC In Shape

I run Norton Antivirus, Lavasofts Ad Aware and my firewall is Zonealarm - on the security front I think I am quite well covered.

But is there any tools that anyone would recommend such as a registry cleaner, or a program which seeks out the .tmp files on your PC etc.

TIA

I've always found EASYCLEANER to be good and reliable when sorting out the Duplicate files, Unnecessary Files and for cleaning out the Registry.
This is available from most magazine discs.

is one strange area whereby free reliable tools such as "RegSeeker" is hard to come by in recent time. but at least the situation is much better now because their operational reliablity have improved greatly. nowadays, it is quite unlikely that they would accidentally 'kill' your sytems especially under the inherently safer Windows XP os.

on the other hand, not many paid-for shareware are able stand out from the crowds. besides, none of the shareware (as far as i know) allowed a proper trial usage. certain functions tend to be 'disabled' by default unless you proceed to purchase it. intense frustration usually prevails in our quest to search for a good reliable registry-cleaner in the net.

currently, if there is one specialised shareware registry-cleaner that i think is worthwhile to try seriously, it should be the "Registry Clean Expert" click here.

it is simple elegance without too many 'extra' features to confuse the users. there is a useful startup organiser for you to see what tools are loaded after the computer bootup. a HBO organiser (Helper Browser Object) is also there for you to see what external tools (if any) are activated when you opened the Internet Explorer, which tend to be ignored by firewall for the obvious reason.
