Time - extended warranties

Is it normal for extended warranties to be limited to only certain parts of a pc system?
I paid £300 for one of these and apparently my keyboard isn't covered.
The saleman at the time specifically said that I'd be covered for accidental damage, "If you spill a cup of coffee on the keyboard, we'll replace it"
Apparently I'm covered for the monitor and base unit only, nice to find that out now!

Anyone got one of these?

You seemed to be getting no replies, in that case why not try ConsummerWatch?

I took the keyboard apart, cleaned out the crumbs etc.. washed the non-electrical bits in warm soapy water, dried everything off, reassembled and plugged it back in, .....instant warranty (well it LOOKS new).

Well done! There isn't much in 'em, it's just a case of remembering where all the keycaps go.
