Time display

Win 98 V1.
Within a few hours of operation the time displayed by the clock on the taskbar will be slow by several minutes. It can run into hours if left on over the weekend. If I reboot the correct time will be returned, but that's a bit drastic action. The correct time is obviously retained by the PC. Any ideas? I tend to use my PC clock and I am in danger of missing lunch one day!

Windows itself keeps the time when the system is switched on - so what you have is a software issue. The only way to find what, is dy disabling various bits of software and finding which is the culprit.

An alternative is on-line time synchronisation - this is best if you have a permanent net connection of course. WinXP actually adopts this approach by default, as this is a perennial problem.
