Thunderbird query

After a pretty expensive replacement of the innards of my PC, luckily data saved, I am in the process of putting my programmes back on. I still want to use Thunderbird as my e-mail client but have a problem I am unable to resolve. After unsucessfully entering the info I had from my ISP, it turned out I was putting the settings in the wrong place. I managed to get Mailwasher and OE working ok and though I have receive some e-mails to Thunderbird I get the following message alert 'sending of password did not succeed. Mail server responded login failed' I have imported the settings from OE but the message is still there. Any ideas TIA TR

Have you checked the POP3 and SMTP settings in Thunderbird for the particular account (Tools>Account settings)?

It could also be that the OE settings are incorrect or not set to collect from your default ISP server.
