Don't know about XNVIEW, but free Irfanview can do thumbnail previews.

Irfanview has thumbnails, slideshow etc features:

It's a superb utility. If you don't have it make sure you download the codecs as well.

Photoshop 7 has a thumbnail feature in the File Browser listed as Thumbnail Pane - it's the first pane to the right of Tree Pane.

Just found this as well:

Also try: Goto File > Automate > Contact Sheet II

Is there nothing detailed in Photoshop's Help files regarding Thumbnails?

If you're running in XP, I find the Thumbnail View in Windows Explorer is excellent for a quick flip through.

There is nothing in Adobe help. Can't find explorer, downloaded Irfanview but can,t open files on the disc.

Irfan View cannot open later PSD files. Corel Photopaint opened the file just fine. Must be a restriction on more recent PSD files.

Have you been to the Adobe website and checked for any updates etc to cover your requirements?

Irfanview can certainly open Photoshop7[and earlier version] .psd files - haven't bothered installing CS8 yet so don't know about the latest version.

When I try to open a *.PDD image in Irfan View 3.85, I get a message that Photoshop 3.0 is required to open it. The datestamp says 9th March 2003
