This thread title panel and the number of charact

Is it possible to make the thread title panel (into which I have just typed the thread title for this forum message) accept more characters than it currently does?

No, brevity is king here.

If they did allow more letters Rotenone god alone knows how long the titles would end up being!

If my title exceeds the character length I just carry it on as part of the main body of the posting. Doesn't seem to cause any misunderstandings.

The reason for the title limit is, as GANDALF <|:-)> says, deliberate. There would be confusion if we permitted longer entries - some people would post their entire problem as the title.

Placing Help!! or Urgent!! as a thread main header assists in reducing the title ;o)

Rotenone, who are you to tamper with a masterpiece. ;-)

Don't put HELP or URGENT in the title, grrr. lol

If your posting in the helproom, we know you need help! and as for "URGENT" everyones problems are urgent aren't they? so you don't need to say that either :p

Make you title clear, understandable and related to the problem you have. Reason being is that it's easier for people to search the archives.
