sorry to bother you yet again with thinkpad problems...
I'm having trouble accessing the recovery partition on the hard-drive.
An F11 promt is meant to show in the first two seconds of BOOT. "Press F11 to invoke IBM Recovery"
However, if the prompt does not display then you can not invoke the recovery.
The hard drive had crashed but eventually i managed to access the saved data from the Windows XP parition by plugging it into my pc.
I've tried the IBM recovery prompt recovery disk. However, this thinkpad didn't come with a floppy drive so i borrowed my brothers. The problem there is that it didn't work. He thinks the floppy drive is damaged. I don't know anyone else with a thinkpad. So i'm kinda stuffed there. I can't repair the recovery prompt.
Is there any way of getting the stuff off the Recovery parition? BTW: it's not accessible via windows explorer, it's a Hidden Protected Area.
