Is there a free alternative to Photoshop?

  Salut 19:06 22 Sep 2009

I have used Adobe Photoshop to tinker with pictures and home photo's. Not using the program on a regular basis means that I have not really got to grips with all the functions.

Frankly, I need something that is simple to use yet has the versatility to impress if I wish to spend time.

I have a preference for freeware - recession and all that!

Try Paint.Net; click here

Paint.Net click here & XnView click here are some of the better free ones that are very easy to use. I use them 90% of the time.

I also have Paint Shop Pro but only use it when I need something that the others lack.

More related free programs at click here. G

There is also The Gimp click here but I would agree with others that Paint.Net is hard to beat for user friendliness.
