I've been looking in my computer magazines recently and have found thats some magazines refer to flat screens as TFTs and others as LCDs. is there a difference and also which one is better?
Yes or no? anyone?
click hereYou can also have a flat screen CRT....:-)
For all prctical purpose, for modern computer monitors, you can take them as the same thing.TFT = Thin Film TransistorLCD = Liqid Crystal DisplayThere are other types of LCD displays than TFT, and there are other types of thin flat screens (TVs are often plasma displays)But, to re-itereate, on a modern computer monitor you can take the two as the same.On older laptops, there can be LCD displays that are are not TFT technology though.
a TFT monitor still uses LCD. The transistors in the TFT matrix switch the LCD pixels.
