Temp Internet files - can all be deleted?

  chalkie 21:24 06 Apr 2005

In my Temp Internet folder are many folders with strange extensions (such as OB6345TYF) that contain many files etc
Can these all be deleted or will this cause any problems?

Yes. In fact use CleanUp! to get rid of the lot click here

Emptying files from IE will do it for you also. i.e. Tools, Internet Options, then Delete Files button. Also I think need to delete cookies.

Not sure if the program above allows you to save specific cookies. If not you may find some log-in and local settings eg.geograpic setting on hotmail need reset every time you visit. If you have the option set to retain these type of cookies. I use UNH solutions 'IE privacy keeper' which is freely available to download.

CCleaner will allow cookies from your chosen web sites to be saved. This will allow one to have ones login details to 'NOT' be removed during 'clean up'.

Open CCleaner, Click OPTIONS. In the new window ,click Cookies tab.

You are now presented with an 'add/remove type window....... 'Fill ya boots'
