Temp Folder Too Small

  DJ-Garry 11:47 16 Jan 2006

Hi guys.
I'm trying to use Nero Vision Express 3 to transfer some home video in .avi format to DVD. Its a 18.7 Gb .avi file so I want to save it to a hard drive folder (3.5 Gb) rather than direct to DVD so I can add to it later before burning. At the last point before coding I get a pop up from Nero telling me there's not enough space in my Temp folder. 3528 Mb available and 3708 Mb needed. I've emptied it apart from two 80 Kb files windows says are being used and it still wont work. Is there a way I can make more space available please?

Thanks for your help, Garry.

"Its a 18.7 Gb .avi file"

and then you say

"I want to save it to a hard drive folder (3.5 Gb)"

What does that mean?

It sounds to me as if you may be trying to write this file to a drive partition that's formatted as FAT 32 instead of NTFS. FAT32 will not handle a file that's any larger than 4Gb.

Format your drive as NTFS and the problem will go away.
