the printer is fine then and it seems to be a driver to printer problem
modern printers and Epson in particular are very fussy about how the drivers are set up
A look in the left search field say R300-
will reveal much.
Essentually the software must be installed before the printer is plugged in and activated.
So try this
Go to START/Printers and faxes - click to open-right click on the R300 icon and delete.
Re start the machine.
Make sure the printer is powered off and the USB cord is out.
New reinstall the software and activiate the printer only when told to do so.
You could also go to the Epson website and download the latest driver.
