Task Manager Windows 2000 “disappeared”
I was tidying up some programmes is it possible to delete Task Manager?
I have tried the various ways of getting into it i.e. Ctrl-Alt-Del &right clicking task bar etc. but task manager is gone from my pc.

I usually use it to kill Sonic stage, which came with my mp3 player and I used to store music. Now it slows down my pc incredibly. That’s the reason I was trying to “clean up” to see if that would speed things up.

What happens if you go to Start, Run, type

and click OK?

I have tried ctrl- shift -esc absolutely nothing happens.

When I type Task mer.exe in Run it says "another program is using this file"

What happens after a reboot?

What in safe-mode?

No change after reboot.

Don't know what safe mode is.

Keep tapping the F8 button after restarting but before the Windows screen appears. You should see a boot menu - use the up/down arrow keys to select Safe Mode and press the Enter key.

The task manager is back -it was in safe mode then i rebooted in normal mode and there it was --back!don't ask me!!

Now if I could get the sonic stage to stop slowing everything down i'd be ok.
