Tablet keyboards do not function after Windows 10

I have just updated my 32-bit Windows 10 tablet to the latest Autumn 2018 Creator's Update. To my horror, neither the Bluetooth-connected or USB keyboard (which used to work perfectly well) will now work! Fortunately the on-screen keyboard & the mouse do work, so I can at least communicate with it - albeit slowly. I have checked that Bluetooth is switched on (the mouse is Bluetooth) but clearly it should communicate with an external USB keyboard at least! Checking the Device Manager lists the external keyboard with a Driver Error. If I search on the web for a more upto date driver, Windows says the best driver is already installed. I guess the problem is 'further up' the device chain of functionality.

Unfortunately (because I was running out of space) I have already removed the previous version of Windows using 'Disk Cleanup' - but I do have an image of it on an external drive if all else fails.

Any ideas how I can get the non-screen keyboards to function? Thanks.
