Hi

Currently my system comprises of the following:
1400AMD CPU
512 DDR P2100 memory
40 GB Hard drive 7200 RPM
ASUS A7A266 motherboard

I need to add a larger motherboard to enable me to Burn DVD's from a digital camcorder.

I have 2 questions

Is it worth my while to upgrade the cpu to an AMD 2600XP & change the motherboard in addition to the new hard drive ?

OR

shall I buy only a new hard drive. If this is the option will I benefit by buying a 120 GB ATA133 hard drive with a 8MB buffer or will the same hard drive but with a 2mb buffer suffice.

Also will I benefit from doubling the memory to 1gb.

Regards

One suggestion that I have is that you should use two separate HDDs - it will make a difference.

Your 1400 AMD processor is ok - not wonderful, but will do the job for you - but and upgrade to the XP2600 will be good if your mobo will accomodate it.

Doubling the memory will certainly have a positive impact on video editing.
