system shut down due to Remote Procudure Call

  honey monster 16:26 27 Sep 2003

I've just installed windows xp home (full instalation)& have just set up a new internet connection, but every time i go online a messege comes up saying "this system is shutting down, please save all work in progress & log off.
this shut down was initiated by NT Authority\System.
Windows must restart now because The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) terminated unexspectedly"

there's a timer on the messege & it counts down from 1 minute & then shuts down the system & then the computer restarts back up again.

any ideas as i'm new to xp as i was using 98se but thought i'd treat myself to xp but i'm not so sure if it was a good move.

You are infected with a virus :-(

When you connect to the internet and the message pops up.

Go to start, run and type:

shutdown -a

Click ok.

Then click here and click here for info.

Download stinger from here > click here This will remove the virus.
