My PC OS is XP prof'.The HDD system restore setting is max' i.e. 18314MB but the facility fails to retain any restore point older than 2 days ago.It appears to automatically delete them.Any ideas please.

System Restore sets a percentage of disk space to use max 8%
if the disk is nearly full then you will not get more than a couple of days worth of restore points

Hello Fruit Bat,The system restore setting is at 12% and the HD is 140 GB of which 30.89GB has been used.

If you do not need the system restore at this present time. Turn of the System Restore on all drives.
Re-boot the computer then turn them on again.

This should clear any 'storage' problem'.

I recently had an evaluation copy of windows 7 on a partition, and when the boot screen appears I had the option to load win7 [which appeared as default] and an earlier o/s, XP. I have since formatted the partition which has obviously deleted win 7 o/s. However, I am still getting the options to boot whatever o/s at the boot screen. Can anyone advise me how to rid myself of the option to boot win 7. No doubt it is in the BIOS but without some advice I am reluctant to persue that. AB68
