I've installed system mechanic 6 of the March issue cover disk. it's a full program but it asks for registration/serial number. i can't see this in the magazine. does anyone know what registration to use? otherwise it's only a 30 day trial version.

many thanks

Are you sure? Just looked at my March Issue 128 DVD and System Mechanic 6 is not listed as a "Full Program".

As I never install anything off cover disks I may be wrong.

You have to contact PC Tools as it tells you on the disc. They will send you an email with the registration details.

Having got your key you then click the registration tab at the top left of Registry Mechanics screen and enter the details. This will give you a full version.

If you read the details on this product in the magazine it will warn you NOT to click the `Live Update` button as it will revert to a 30 day trial.

Hope this helps.

If it's of any help, I installed it from the Explorer view and it installed automatically without the need for any registration/serial number.

thanks - that's what i did but it counts down from 30 days

Sorry, I was thinking of an entirely different program (Registry Mechanic) which would have been useless for the job. Must get a new brain!!
