system freeze.

im still having the problems previously mentioned. can any1 help. would a system restore be advised. what is this. what does it do. how can i do it. im a bit of a novice so speak in plain lang. help would b really app. im going mad here.

Uninstall via Start, Control Panel, Add & Remove programs. Sort by: Last used.

They will be listed as Windows XPHotfixxxxxxx where xxxxxx is a number.

Then download them one at a time.

just did system restore il let u know in 10 mins if its happened again.thats how long it takes to freeze

iv done a system restore and its still freezing after about ten minutes. any ideas

Have a look in Event Viewer and look for errors that correspond to the times it freezes.

Go to Start, Help and Support and enter Event Viewer in the Search box to learn how to do this.

Righto, if you've got Event Viewer up on the screen you shouls see the following in the left hand pane:




Click on System and look for entries marked with a white X in a red circle. Do the same with Application.

If any Xs correspond to the times that it froze, post what it says here.
