System bus spec

What is a system BUS, and how many MHz should it have these days??

The system bus, alternatively known as the Front-side bus or processcor bus, runs between the CPU and the system RAM. speeds vary but in intel systems you are looking at 400-1000 Mhz (although this is achieved by quad pumping the bus.) the top AMD 32bit processors are using a 400 mhz FSB.
