When I start up my pc the System 32 Folder is displayed. I've checked the programmes in the start up menu and it's not included.

Grateful for any suggestions as to a 'cure'

Thanks !!

Start, Run, type in

msconfig

and click OK.

See if it is listed on the Startup tab and if so untick it (probably would be listed as explorer.exe).

Untick everything in msconfig/startup then tick 1 at a time until you find the 1 you want to stop.

control panel/tools/folder options/view

untick "restore previous folder at windows logon"

restart

Thanks jimv & Huggy - No luck I'm afraid, it keeps on appearing

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.

if you don't want to fiddle in the registry then download a vbs file on

Line 260. click on "System32 Folder Opens Upon Boot"

this will do it for you

Thanks all - Still no joy. After clicking on the "system32 folder opens on boot" shortcut, I get the following message which prevents me installing the fix "iexpolore.exe on windows home edition service pack 1 cd is needed"

Any ideas ??

Thanks very much again
