you describe do sound like a problem with the driver - maybe there's some file corruption. Have you tried printing from other applications? If so, what happens?

On the assumption that the same problem occurs, I suggest that you remove the printer in Device manager, and then turn off your computer. Restart, and let Windows detect the Lexmark again. Windows will look for, and install the printer driver, and then you can try to print from it.
