Switch for 4 pin internal power cable

Can anyone please advise on what the red, two black and yellow wires represent on the 4 pin internal power cable. I wish to make a switch for one cable I have, if I cut the red and yellow wires add my switch and leave the two black wires, will that work.
(Long story, but have internal sata drive outside my PC case powered by internal power.)
