Hey,
I use windows XP, geforce 6800gs, 1gb ddr2, AMD 4800 dual core, that should cover it
Well when i start up my computer it makes a very high picthed noise constantly untill i turn it off. I was having over heating problems so i removed my gfx card checked the fans were working and added an extra fan, i then replaced my card and started my comp up and this noise just appeared out of no where. I checked all the connections and they all seem fine, any ideas?

Roll up an A4 page into a tube. With the side off, start her up and locate the source.

Sounds like a bearing - Fan or disc drive? If you run with the side off can you can isolate the source of noise?
(Try the old mechanic's trick of using a screwdriver hard to you ear and placed on a non-conducting part of the drive or board to transmit sounds/vibrations.)

Remove the plug for the new fan, then recheck for noise
