after using Outlook Express on windows XP I sometimes find a file of 208kb size has appeared on the desktop. I can delete it and my virus scanner pc-cillin 2003 does not show it as a virus. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to stop it.Jim
I get that sometimes on my C:/ in W2K. I'm pretty sure it's just another harmless Windows log of your activities. (Damn snoopware) Although why it appears on your desktop I have no idea.....SketcH
It's a small bug in Windows introduced by one of the updates. The ~ appears when you have made an addition to the address book either conciously or by replying to an address not already in the book.Remove the ~ by right clicking and "delete".
The strange symbol is called a 'Tilde' and can be foud as the shifted item onm the 'Hash' key next to the 'Enter' Key.
Yes, that's where I found it and doubtless jimd did as well<:-)
Hey, I've got one there, above #. Is it anything to do with rice?
