stopping windows closing down

Once I have clicked Start/Turn Off Computer/Turn Off and Windows starts to close, is there anyway of restarting without having to wait for it to close & reboot?

I often switch off and then realise [being over 60] I forgot something!

create a text file in notepad containing the following command

%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 60

Now save it as

- not as a text file. Put it in your documents folder. Create a desktop shortcut to the file. Use the shortcut to shutdown the machine, you will have 60 seconds to cancel the shutdown. Change the number to your preference.

Oops..not quite...

Create a second file called

%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -a

save it as

Create a shortcut to that one too, use /that/ to quit the shutdown procedure after clicking the first one.

Create a second file containing this command - (not called this)

%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -a
