Stop Error Screen

My daughter has an old Tiny PC which when turned on stops at a blue screen with the following message - *** STOP:0x0000007B (0xFE510C90,0xC000009C, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
It then goes on to say about checking for viruses on computer, running CHKDSK/F to check for hard drive corruption and restarting computer. Every restart of computer comes back to same screen and no amount of keyboard pressing can get me away from this screen to do anything - is this computer now officially dead or does anybody have a miracle cure?

No it is not dead, nor indeed in need of Intensive Care!

I am assuming you have XP in which case it just needs a Windows CD and a repair.

Can you give some more info about the machine - what Operating System, restore disk, ect.

It is a very old Windows 98 machine that my husband recently took into his office and got someone to upgrade to Windows 2000 so that this machine could also link into wireless wanadoo broadband network at home - so just a case of reloading WIndows 2000 CD then as I presume this will overide the current screen blockade?

A reinstall of Win2k should sort it out; most stop errors are caused by poor drivers so that will be worth looking at.
