Well I have 26 programs at startup and quite a few I will have to disable again I just haven't got round to it.
Download Ccleaner and run that to clear out rubbish click here
Have you recently defragged your hard drive?
To find out what loads at startup (assumming its XP you have) click START, RUN and type msconfig and then OK. If you click the startup tab you can see whats loaded at startup.
Now be careful here, it is obvious what some items are and if you know what it is you can disable it if you wish by unticking it but if you do not know what it does don't disable it until you find out as you can stop windows from loading, note whatever you disable so if it does have problems you can retick it.
Heres some info on the start up programs click here
