SSCI primary and IDE HD as data storage

Be very grateful for advice...I have a SSCI main HD installed already and want to add an IDE HD as data storage. Can I just add it to the primary IDE and fdisk/format after I've installed Win 2000 on the SSCI disk?

yes, but make sure your bios knows to boot from scsi before ide as the default is usually ide first.

Yes. Make sure that BIOS is set to boot from SCSI.

Ah! I have the PC with Win98 and SCSI hard drive installed...working fine. Want to install Win 2000. If I boot from Win2000 CD and install, after fdisk/format, will the bios automatically recog SCSI HD? Once I'd done this I want to then add a second, IDE HD as storage. Previous advice recommended checking out the controller card and getting any neccessary software. Haven't done this step beyond?

Set BIOS to boot in the following order ...

1 - CDRom
2 - SCSI

The SCSI card drivers will be installed by Windows.
