Which is best? They seem to do the same job from
what I`ve read.

Use both. They have slightly different data bases, so one will find something the other may miss.

Both. They each spot things that the other misses.

Also try spyware blaster. click here

Since installing this, spybot and ad-aware always come up clean.

If I may butt in, don't forget to update them both after installing.

thanks you guys, no more guesswork.

Spybot may come up with 4 or 5 DSO Exploits which you may not be able to get rid of them. From a previous thread I posted, I found out that its just a bug and you can ignore them.

Happy spyware hunting/blasting/whatever :P

Spybot is currently coming up with a false positive in the form of SearchforIt.

  CurlyWhirly 20:49 03 Sep 2004

Thanks.
I keep getting this 'SearchforIt' entry and it keeps coming back.
I didn't know it was a false positive so I will ignore it next time!

The SearchForIt false detection is related to Spywareblaster.

One day they will get their act together. Still, so far they are all free. So far...
