Could anyone tell me what this is and if I should allow it internet access?

Seems you may have picked up something you don't want or need.

Do a virus/trojan check and also scan with Ad-aware and/or Spybot S&D

I have norton on the machine and it hasn't picked up anything. Also at the end of every internet session I run adaware. The only things that picks up are 'tracker' and I delete these each time.

to avoid the "spooler subsystem app" annoyance type "services.msc" (without the quotation marks) in the run box and set "print spooler" to "manual". It's not a virus it's part of Windows network printing.

The information above I gave is completely wring, following the above will cause problems with the printer & even the printer disappearing totaly. Put the spooler back on auto and set your firewall Zone I presume to block only internet attempts at reaching out. You will be fine. Sorry again I made a mistake.
