splitting a router cable

We run a cable from our netgear router to an x-box some 20 metres to an upstairs room. A computer in the same room is connected via wireless to the router but the signal is very poor. In another room is a 2nd x-box.

Is it possible to use a three-way splitter on the cable to connect to the computer and 2nd x-box or do I need to run separate cables to each unit?

You would be better using a switch in the upstairs room click here

Thanks for your response Bremner

If using this "switch" could all three units connect to the internet at the same time?

the example of switch in my link would allow 5 simultaneous connections.
