Splash screen Win 98

Was given advice on changing this, which included creating a new .bmp file, putting it in place of original logo.sys and renaming it to logo.sys. When I try this it doesn't actually create as a .sys file, but remains a .bmp one called logo.sys, the extension column in explorer still showing it as .bmp.
Any ideas please.

Perhaps you need to rename your original to logo.sys old so you can go back to it

Renaming in this case involves the file name and changing the extension from .bmp to .sys

If you have a logo.sys at the moment, move it to a different folder for safe keeping.

Take the picture[of the correct dimensions]that you wish to use - I'll call it here Image.bmp - and sustitute logo for Image and .sys for .bmp
