Does anyone have a link to download Windows XP2 from MS please? I cannot find it on the MS website & I don't know if I can trust anywhere else.

From what I read on the froums the past few days someone had a look and Microsoft Are charging for delivary which is a pain the neck, maybe asking your mates if they have a disk ??

Thanks bremner but that link tells me how to turn on automatic updates. What I wanted is a copy I can take to a friend who only has a dial-up connection at present. As you suggest Rob, I'll see if anyone else has a copy.

Sorry, should have mentioned - the fact that it states network is irrelevant.

I have a couple of spare official XPSP2 update disks which were distributed by various PC magazines in Autumn 2004 when SP2 was released. If you send me your address using the yellow envelope next to my name I'll post one off to you.

When you have a copy of sp2, borrow your friends copy of win xp + sp1 and slipstream it together with SP2 like this click here I found it was easy to do when I only had xp + sp1 and had problems with sfc

You will also have to download the SP3 updates issued since the release of SP2.

Don't understand your post, I got the following from a website when I googled for win xp sp3 quote 'Microsoft has officially confirmed that Windows XP SP3 will be released after Windows Vista sometime in 2006. Windows XP Service Pack 3 (XP SP3) will be a regular customer fix and not a major upgrade. SP3 will contain significant security enhancements, in addition to stability and performance improvements.'

Thanks very much Wuggy, I've done that.
