After much deliberating I decided to Install Xp2, I now find that my PC is considerably slower on start up is there any way to cure this. I've defragmented both before and after install, any suggestions please. I have Trend Micro running so whether that takes a long time to load or not I don't know, I've got it set to real time scanning

you could try turning trend micro off then booting see if it makes any difference, not whilst connected to the internet obviously

OK I'll give that a try

after installing SP2 some computers do take a little bit longer than before to get up and running but no one knows what is causing it (this has been reported in some pc mags, cant remember if PCA has mentioned it) some say its to do with the new security features.
