Sound problems

  [DELETED] 21:01 25 Aug 2005

For some reason my sound works but the volume control on the bottom left of the screen has on control over the volume.
Whats wrong?

Sorry but I don't follow you....

What do you mean by....

"bottom left of the screen has on control over the volume" ???

The volume control icon that is at the bottom left of the screen (where the time is) That has no control over the volume. Even when I press mute.
Also not everyone has it there anyway its an option somewhere.
It can be found in Control Panel, Speech And Audio Devices

My volume control and time (like most PCs) is at the bottom RIGHT.

The Volume icon and Time display should be in the Task bar (i.e. on the right).

Sorry I have the task bar set vertically on the left to suit excel. I did not think that most people don’t do that. My bad. Anyway the problem still persists

"to suit excel" ???????????????????????

Does it matter?

  Stuartli 21:34 25 Aug 2005

That explains it (?)

Have you right clicked on the Volume icon and checked the mixer panel? You may have inadvertently muted some or all of the settings.

Checked it but all of them are normal. None are muted.

The the only way I can control the volume is by the knob on the speaker themselfs.
