Sound controls

  flobby 10:37 28 Oct 2004

Hi All,
I can get my sounds on my computer, But cannot higher or lower the sound from the computer I have to do this by the speaker control.
When I move the slider on the computer it states that I am increasing or lowering by percentage ,But the sound is the same. Also when I tick the mute box it does not mute.
Sound card is NVIDIA(R) nFORCE(TM)audio by Microsoft version 5.10 running XP Pro
Cheers, Flobby

Download size: 675 KB, less than 1 minute

I just went to the update Windows site and it came up with 2 Optional hardware updates of which (1) was the update for

( Nvidia Corporation - Sound - NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) MCP Audio Processing Unit )

Go to Windows Update site click here

let it scan your computer and it shoud offer you the driver in (select optional hardware updates)

Also check that your speakers are plugged into the correct socket. If they are into a 'line out' one you won't be able to alter the volume as it is constant.
