Sorting Text in Excel 12:18 24 Feb 2003

Is it possible to segregate cell with text ending in specific characters.

I have a list of product codes. Some end with the notation "-S". Is it possible to sort only the products ending with "-S"

There's probably an easier way, but this will work :-)

First off, type =RIGHT(XY,1) in a cell in the same row as your code, where XY is the cell reference of your PRODUCT CODE (the one ending in s). This will return "s" for codes ending in s, (or the last didget if not). Now drag the forumla down so that it is in every row of your table...

Now apply an autofilter (highlight the top row, Data > Filter > Autofilter), then in the column where you have S or a number, click s in the drop down box.
