Sony keyboard doesn't like SP2

One of my clients has a daughter at university, and she rang me just now with a problem. Her doting Dad bought her one of those Sony Vaio 'V' series desktops - the ones that look like a screen with a keyboard. She's been trying to install Windows XP SP2 and constantly gets this error message:

"Keyboard closure setup has a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows - installation cannot proceed."

That's as far as she gets. I tired talking her through several workarounds over the phone, with no success.

Has anyone any ideas?
