Dear Colleagues

With reference to my earlier post, I have tried to download video from my new Sony Digicam and keep getting the message that the computer is trying to connect via a 1394 port - what does this mean.It came with a USB connection.

Any help would be appreciated

The IEEE 1394 port (also know as firewire and the Sony brand name I-link) is probably the default in the software you are using. If your video editing/capture software isn't auto sensing the camera try finding how to change it manually.

Thanks for your reply. I have discussed this issue with colleagues at work who have all said the same. In fact one colleague, when I described plugging in the USB stated "You must have a Sony"

Many Thanks

The USB will let you download stills, but you will need a firewire card for Video.
