Software installation problems

Last week I was helped re problems with computer not starting up. Win98SE plus drivers for graphics, monitor, data link was re-installed. I still have NDiswan.vxd problem at startup and MS knowledge base procedure does not resolve problem.

Now I cannot install MS Messenger, keeps saying I have a copy, which I have already removed via programme install/removal, plus it occasionally mentions "adminstrator" but I forget in what context, finally I cannot install Norton Antivirus 2003 (which was not installed at time of original problem)will not read disc nor Norton Firewall.

The computer is often used for MS Messenger plus Kazaa Media Desktop 2.

Many thanks to anyone who can help

Kazaa Media Desktop 2

Likely you have a virus, Kazaa is dangerous, as there are lots of file spoofs as viruses.

Gaz 25 - thanks my worst fears probably realised. What's the answer? If I cannot install NAV is there something around that can search for potential virus?
