Small DOS CD burner

I know a guy who is unable to boot into windows but needs to recover his files. He cant put the harddrive in his other computer because the broken one is a desktop computer and the other one a laptop. I though the cheapest way would be to just use a dos based burner in the broken comp and burn teh files to a cd where he can put them on his laptop. What are some good DOS based burners that can fit onto a floppy disk?

I've not heard of one but that means little :-)

Anyway, he could get another hard drive and install windows on it, then put the old one in as slave and take the data from it.
