slow down my cd-rw drive

how can i slow down my cd-rw drive,it is running to fast,therefore i cannot load software into my pc.
i have windows xp and an aopen cd-rw drive.

denis93c, what do U mean it's running to fast? R U sure it's the cdrw and not the Software disk? I think U can only slow it down when Ur writing to disk.

Rewriters should be kept for their main purpose - burning..:-)

Use a CD or, preferably, DVD-ROM drive to listen to audio CDs, install software etc to extend the life of your rewriter as much as possible; they are not the most robust of devices at the best of times.

The CDSpeed utility in Nero can also be found under Programs>Ahead Nero >Toolkit for earlier versions of the software.

The drive will only run at the desired speed of the disc needed at that time,the only way to alter the speed is when copying/writing cd media
i also have an Aopen cd/rw drive 48/12/50 and it runs ok.
