Sky broadband users - a bit of guidance please!

  Shortstop 09:25 28 Jan 2008

My daughter is having Sky fitted today and, because she had no BT line until today either, will have Sky Broadband activated in about 5 days.

She has asked me where she will connect her PC to the internet but, as neither I nor my friends have Sky, I cannot answer. Obviously, if she needs to connect via the Sky box this will need to be factored into where she wants this installed.

Can someone please advise? Is it like any other broadband provider - via a filter box on the main BT socket/extensions, wireless or something else?

Many thanks,

Hi Paul,

I'm with Sky (have been for over 12 months and very happy with service)

It's just like any standard broadband package. You're provided with a wireless router which should be plugged into your main BT socket. Connect to the PC either wired or wireless and away you go. It is not connected to the Sky box at all.

There's quite a good support forum here click here if you hit problems, but mine worked straight out the box.
