Simple home network solution required

  JackJimmy 18:53 01 Jul 2004

Hello all,
Have a question, hopefully someone can provide me with a solution. I have 2 laptops & a desktop PC. The PC is running XP Pro, the laptops are both XP home. All are hooked up to a Netgear all-in-one adsl modem-router-firewall item, and all can access the internet through this without any problem.
However, I want to be able to share files from the desktop PC with only one of the laptops, (and vice-versa), while at the same time restricting the 2nd laptop to only using the internet.
Whats my best way of doing this (without purchasing any additional hardware)?

Are you using XPs firewall as well ?

To share a folder... right click on the folder > Properties and click on the Sharing Tab and tick the appropriate box(es).
